League Rules
These rules are subject to change as necessary based on feedback or suggestions from the league members. If you are unsure or would like clarification on any of the rules listed here, please don't hesitate to ask.
*
Racing will take place on a 24/7 dedicated server via the Hacker Smacker
* Broadband connections are required to join the league.
* Drivers with high ping rates and/or excessive warping may be asked to leave the race for safety concerns. No one likes to have a car in front of the warp just as they are entering a turn! Drivers with consistently poor connections will not be allowed to participate in future races until their connection problems are resolved to the League Admin's satisfaction.
* Custom car files
will now be handled by RLM's CFM.
* Provisional points have been modified for this
season. UPDATED 8/10/07
Provisional points for missed races will be equal to last place -5 points. Each member will be allowed to receive
only 2 provisional for races during the season. New members who start after the season has begun will be given provisional points for all races missed up to the next schedule race. To
regain a provisional a driver must make 5 consecutive races.
* any driver listed in the inactive list will not be allowed to race until they have contacted me thru a email message stating your desire to become an active member again. if you miss a 3rd consecutive race in a row without prior notification as to your reason for missing these races, you will automatically be dropped to the inactive list and will not be reinstated until i've been notified by you. if you miss 5 consecutive in a row, you will be dropped from the league and your position will be filled from the waiting list.
* Races will use the "expert" simulation setup provided with the game for each track. The League Admin reserves the right to modify the setup based on input from the other drivers. Any such changes will be communicated to the drivers prior to the race.
* Ten Lap Rule: ALL LAPPED CARS DO A DRIVE THRU ON PIT ROAD OR STOP FOR SERVICE ONE LAP BEFORE THE GREEN COMES OUT.
This is to allow all lead lap cars to race each other for the remainder of the race without having to make attempts to pass slow, damaged off pace cars, or cars that for some reason have been lapped earlier in the race.
* Intentional wrecking of any car will not be tolerated. 1st offense gets you ejected from that race and temporarily banned. You will be expected to explain the incident to the League Admin who will then decide if you will be allowed to continue in the league. If a second chance is given, and a 2nd infraction occurs, you will be ejected from that race and permanently banned.
Any incidents under caution will be considered double violations and will
result in double penalty points.
* No blatant apron or grass passing to better your position on any track. Verified infractions will result in a 1 lap penalty.
* Race restarts will be at the discretion of the admin. If a wreck occurs on the first lap, a restart maybe allowed. If on the second attempt to restart the race and another wreck occurs, a restart may or may not be allowed. THERE WILL BE NO ATTEMPT TO RESTART A THIRD TIME!!!!!!....so be careful on the start!!!!. No weaving...it doesn't help your tires and causes wrecks.
Wrecks on the first lap of the race, or the first lap of a
restart will result in a 25 point penalty from race total. New
rule added 12/4/05
*All self spins will no cost drivers 5
points per incident. PSPS rules still apply, but all spins will result in
points penalty New
rule added 1/19/08

No unnecessary chatting is allowed during the race. Besides, we don't have time to read all of the chat messages when we're racing at 200 mph! You may chat during caution laps, BUT NO FLAMING OR ARGUING OVER THE INCIDENT THAT CAUSED THE CAUTION, you will be warned first, if you continue you will be asked to park your car and/or leave the server. Hold it till after the race and get the replay to see what has happened, you may find that it's not what you think it is, plus you will have had time to cool off a bit. Remember, we maybe good but we are not all perfect!!!!!
*No chatting is allowed during qualifying!
* Personal attacks or profanity of any kind will NOT be tolerated. If you want to take up a private discussion with someone who you think wrecked you or otherwise did you wrong, do it after the race. Offenders will be banned from the league. Period.
* Use your Autochat messages as often as possible so you don't cause wrecks.
* Drivers will be allowed to modify their racing line ONCE in order to protect their position on the track with another car directly behind them (less than 1 sec). For example, if you are leading coming out of turn 2 on the high line with a car directly behind you, you are allowed to change to the low line in an effort to protect your position, but changing back to the high line after that is not allowed and will be considered blocking. However, multiple line changes in an effort to break the draft with a car 1 to 2 seconds behind you is allowed and will not considered blocking. A 1 lap penalty will be assessed for any verified blocking incident. In addition, any verified blocking incident that results in a wreck may incur an additional penalty at the League Admin's discretion.
* Laying back on starts and restarts is prohibited.
You must maintain no more than 1 full car length behind the car in front of
you. Any verified incident of jump-starting will result in a 1 lap
penalty.
* Jumping the green flag on restarts will result in a 25
point penalty. A 2nd violation of this rule will result in a one race
suspension and a 100 point deduction
* Once the green flag waves, passing before the start/finish line IS allowed provided it is done safely and on the OUTSIDE line.
*
On cautions, racing back to the line IS allowed!!.
With the "Lucky Dog" rule in pace, the field
is frozen once yellow flag is displayed. Hold your position and race carefully to the start/finish line!!
* Damaged and off pace cars should announce their condition and then stay low and yield the high line.
* Lapped cars should stay low and yield the high line.
If a driver is more comfortable staying high, he/she must let the field know
before race starts.
* Since I can't possibly keep track of all complaints or infractions during the race, all grievances should be submitted via e-mail at the end of the race or through a "whisper" message during the race. The replay will then be reviewed and if warranted, the appropriate penalty will be assessed. The decision of the League Admin is final and is not subject to debate. All members will be notified of the decision by email if a penalty is assessed.
* UPDATED
2/11/05!! Lucky Dog rule is
in place. If you are 1st car 1 lap down, you must enter pits with
the leaders. You will then receive a black flag which puts you at end
of longest line. Once the race goes green, the administrator or official will
award lap back.. No chatting at this time as usually the admin. is also
involved in race and giving laps back is not the easiest task. Also, with 10
laps or less to go, the Lucky Dog rule is NOT IN EFFECT! Therefore, no laps
will be given back!! If you are the first car 1 lap down
and you are the driver who causes the caution, you will not be awarded the
Lucky Dog. That will go to the next in line. A driver shouldn't be awarded
with the Lucky Dog if he/she actually causes the incident.
